Spook Spotters Returns to Como House and Gardens in 2012

After a sell out season in 2011, Spookspotters are back by popular demand to run their Twilight Ghost Tours at Como House & Garden.

Running the first Thursday of the month from April until October, the tours were introduced at the National Trust property after a team of mediums from Spookspotters Paranormal Research investigated the house in 2008 and found it had a very high level of paranormal activity – a find that was backed up by anecdotes from staff, volunteers and visitors. The lamp lit tours – which are kept to small groups to ensure participants can truly ‘absorb the ambience – begin in Como’s beautiful ballroom where guests are given a background of Como’s residents past and present.

Twilight Tours focus on past people and events in the house and offers a completely different experience to a day time tour. As we view Como by flickering light, these stories certainly add to the ambience of a Twilight Tour!

Not suitable for children under 18.

Event Dates: 5 April, 3 May, 7 June, 5 July, 2 August, 6 September, 4 October 2012. The tours run from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

Places are strictly limited and bookings are essential. Please click here to book tickets online.

School Holiday Programme

Ever wanted to take a trip in a time machine? Rewind and replay at Como House and Garden this school holidays with a program that will send the world in backward spin!

Kids unplug and log-off to explore the world of the 19 Century at Como House this school holidays. They’ll find out what it was like to have lived 100 years ago with no TV, no computers and no fast food!

At the beginning of each session kids will put on their thinking caps to play “little detectives” and discover the use and importance of strange and mysterious thingamabobs from the Victorian era. This will be followed by a gad -about in the gardens with our resident green thumb to discover the way food really gets to the table. A variety of fun and games will follow including quoits and croquet, egg and spoon races and much more!

This is the world as it once was and it’s amazing to see how much kids really get a kick out of discovering the past. It’s so different from the way kids live their lives now and we’re always being asked “where’s the TV”?
