Education

Como Historical House and Garden offers a range of learning experiences for students of all ages.

Established in the 1840s the estate has a fantastic story to share, ranging as far back as the late 19th century.

Occupied by the Armytage family for over a century Como house has long been impressed in the social history of Melbourne.

The gardens created by numerous established Australian designers offer a picturesque backdrop to this vivid learning experience.

The programs on offer have been developed to educate students on the Colonial and Federation periods of Melbourne, as well as encouraging students to form their own views about conservation issues.

To excite primary school students about their visit to Como we invite them to step back in time and dress up for the occasion - information about simple costumes and props is available at the time of booking.

We are happy to tailor our programs to suit individual curricula - please discuss your requirements with our staff.
