School Holidays the Old Fashioned Way

Como offers fun filled activities for kids during school holidays this Spring!

Kids aged 5- 12 are invited to explore the property for a 3 hour olden days program, or 1 hour story time session.

Olden Days- Tuesdays and Thursdays, 21st September, 24 September, 27 September 2010 (10:00-1:00 or 1:00-4:00)

For a day, kids can step back in time and live the life of a 19th century child as they get involved with our detectives workshop, guided garden tour and old fashioned games. Children begin the session by learning about the modern everyday utensils of the Victorian age. The little detectives decipher these strange looking objects and understand their importance and vital necessity in a time long ago.

After learning about the 19th century technologies, children will be given the opportunity to explore the garden with a Como gardener, then let off some steam on the croquet lawn, experiencing the games that children played in the olden days. A variety of games are offered and may include quoits, skittles, croquet, egg & spoon races, badmitton and skipping rope.

Please Note: the is NO SESSION on Thursday 30th September

Story Time- Mondays and Fridays, 20th September, 24th September, 27th September (2:00-3:00)

Join Como's team of story tellers for super silly and fabulously fascinating tales from inside the Como mansion! Magical stories and tall tales will entertain kids with some old fashioned fun. Bring your favourite mug and story tellers will fill it to the top with Como's delicious hot chocolate brew!

Please Note: There is no session on 1 October 2010.

Cost of the olden days program is $15 per child per session.

Cost of the story time program is $5 per child accompanying adult free
